Stanford finally broke through to get back on top of the rowing world.
The Cardinal clinched the national championship on Sunday with a total of 129 points. Stanford finished as runners-up in the 2021 and 2022 tournament, placing behind Texas in both years.
This year's title marks the second in program history, the first coming in 2009.

The Cal Poly Humboldt Women's Rowing team clinched its third NCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday, winning gold in both the Four Grands final and the Eights Grand Final.
It marks the third national title for the Lumberjacks, who previously won the championship in 2012 and 2014.

The NCAA crowned three rowing national champions this weekend at Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, N.J.
In Division I, Stanford took the title on Sunday after accumulating 129 points. The Cardinal had finished as runners up in 2021 and 2022.
On Saturday, Cal Poly Humboldt took home the Division II crown and Wellesley won the Division III title. It was Humboldt's first title since 2014 and third overall. Wellesley's championship was its second in a row.

NCAA DI women’s rowing championship selections
INDIANAPOLIS—The NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee has selected the teams that will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division I women’s rowing championship.
The championship will be held May 26-28 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey, with Temple University and Camden County Boathouse, serving as hosts.
The team championship is composed of 22 teams. Eleven conferences were awarded automatic qualification, and the remaining eleven slots were filled with at-large selections to complete the championship field. Teams qualifying for the championship are required to field two boats of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers. For the I Eights, II Eights and Fours, all 22 boats will be seeded into four heats.

2023 DIII rowing championship selections
INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Committee has selected the institutions that will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Championship.
The championships will be held May 26-27 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey, with Temple University and Camden County Boathouse, serving as hosts.
The team championship is composed of eight teams. Each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers and a coxswain. Automatic qualification (AQ) is granted to four conferences, which form “Pool A.” The remaining four teams are selected from “Pool C,” which is teams in conferences with automatic bids that did not win their conference’s AQ and the remaining Pool B institutions.
